How the project came together
Replacing a dated appliance with a wood burning stove can completely change the atmosphere of a room. Here, the installation gives the fireplace a stronger focal point, a more natural sense of warmth, and a finish that feels both classic and current.
The simplicity of the surrounding materials is important. Rather than overcomplicating the fireplace, the project lets the stove do the work visually: pale surround, dark recess, black hearth, clean stove silhouette and the movement of the real flame.
