The brief
The appliance chosen for the project was the Allure 4 from Hunter Stoves Group, a compact wood burning stove well suited to smaller and medium-sized rooms where a full fireplace feature is wanted without overwhelming the space.
Because the property did not have an existing chimney, the installation required a factory-made insulated flue system. This allows a real wood burning stove to be fitted safely in homes that were never originally designed around a masonry chimney.
How the project came together
The fireplace itself has been finished with a pale surround, a darker textured chamber and a polished black hearth. This combination gives the installation a clean, contemporary look while still providing the sense of depth and permanence that a stove needs to feel properly built into the room.
The result is warm, balanced and practical. The Allure 4 brings the flame picture and heat of a real wood burner, while the surrounding materials create a smart architectural feature that makes the living space feel much more complete.
Project notes

- Factory-made insulated flue system used because the property had no chimney.
- Pale surround and dark hearth create a clean, modern contrast.
- Textured chamber adds depth behind the stove.
- Strong project for new build stove installation and no-chimney stove installation pages.
